Les Liaisons Dangereuses by Choderlos de Laclos has transported countless generations of readers into the decadent world of the French aristocracy on the eve of the Revolution. While the famous film adaptations drew on Laclos’ novel to create visually striking dramatic narratives, harpsichordist Anne-Marie Dragosits has chosen a different path. By presenting an equally dramatic series of harpsichord works composed during Laclos’ era, she offers an intimate musical reinterpretation of the novel, one that is inherently personal in nature.
