Another unmissable opportunity to hear our Taskin Harpsichord, a true "national treasure".
Harpsichordist Cristiano Holtz presents a recital dedicated to François Couperin (1668-1733), a key figure of the French Baroque whose four books of harpsichord pieces shaped the elegant and richly ornamented galant style that fascinated Johann Sebastian Bach himself.
Having studied with the renowned Gustav Leonhardt and Pierre Hantaï, Holtz brings decades of research into Baroque keyboard technique to this refined and delicate repertoire.
With an accompanying recording project, the recital promises a sonic journey to the court of Louis XIV, set against the majestic 18th-century architecture of the Royal Building of Mafra.
