Eva Braga Simões, soprano
Davide Amaral, electric guitar
In this project, soprano Eva Braga Simões interprets songs by Luiz de Freitas Branco (1890-1955), accompanied by electric guitar, in an innovative approach that reinterprets the repertoire of the Portuguese composer. The original accompaniments, mostly written for piano, have been arranged for electric guitar, giving a new sonic perspective to the work.
Portuguese soprano Eva Braga Simões is a founding member of the Quarto Tom Ensemble, the Casa da Música Choir, and the Cupertinos group, with which she received the Gramophone Classical Music Award in 2019. Her discography has also been recognized at the PLAY – Portuguese Music Awards, having been a finalist in the 2020 and 2023 editions and winning the Best Classical Music Album award in 2021. In 2023, she also received a second nomination for the international Gramophone Awards in the Best Early Music Album category. In 2026, in addition to new album releases on labels such as IBS Classical and Hyperion Records, Eva will make her stage debut alongside soprano and conductor Barbara Hannigan.
