Explore, Draw and Paint: Tile Painting Workshops for Adults and Young People
Open Azulejo: Calheta Palace

A unique experience that combines heritage discovery with artistic creation. After visiting the Open Azulejo: Calheta Palace exhibition, each participant is invited to explore the rooms, observe the tiles, discover details, and find inspiration to create their own design. In the second stage, the design is transferred onto a ceramic tile and painted using the majolica technique.
The Open Azulejo: Calheta Palace project opens the doors of a space that is usually closed to the public, allowing visitors to discover tilework in the very settings for which it was originally conceived. Through stories, images, and the marks of time, the Palace and the unique atmosphere of the Tropical Botanical Garden provide experiences that combine observation, discovery, and creativity, bringing each participant closer to this important heritage.

Please note:
Tiles cannot be collected on the same day, as they need to be fired in a kiln.
Collection arrangements and dates will be provided during the workshop, but the minimum turnaround time is 48 hours.
