Explore, Design and Paint: Tile Workshops for Families
Open Azulejo. Palácio da Calheta
An experience designed to be shared by children and adults, combining heritage discovery with artistic creation. After visiting the Open Azulejo. Palácio da Calheta exhibition, participants are invited to explore the rooms, observe the tiles, discover details, and find inspiration to create their own designs. In the second stage, the drawing is transferred onto a tile and painted using the majolica technique.
The Open Azulejo. Palácio da Calheta project opens the doors to a space that is usually closed to the public, allowing visitors to discover azulejos in the settings for which they were originally designed. Through stories, images, and traces of time, the Palace and the unique atmosphere of the Tropical Botanical Garden provide experiences that combine observation, exploration, and creativity, bringing each participant closer to this cultural heritage.
Please note!
Tiles cannot be taken home on the same day, as they must be fired in a kiln.
Collection arrangements and dates will be provided during the workshop, but the minimum turnaround time is 48 hours.
