Triadic Memories
— on the centenary of Morton Feldman
National Museum of Music / "The Invention of the Future" Room
August 8th, 4:00 PM

Andrzej Karalow, piano

A truly unforgettable experience immersing yourself in the sonic universe of Morton Feldman, a composer born one hundred years ago! The program will feature Triadic Memories (1981), lasting approximately ninety minutes, written entirely in very soft dynamics, constituting a profound meditation on memory and perception. Feldman described this as a conscious attempt to "formalize the disorientation of memory."
Feldman (1926–1987) was an American composer, a central figure in 20th-century music, associated with the New York School. His music, of a meditative and austere character, uses innovative graphic notation and explores soft, ethereal, and repetitive sonorities.
To perform his work, the National Museum of Music will welcome Polish pianist Andrzej Karalow, born in 1991 in Lódz. He is a pianist, composer, improviser, and educator, teaching at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. Winner of several national and international competitions, his works are performed in countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Australia.
This recital is co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland. In the photograph, the pianist is portrayed by photographer Krzysztof Mystkowski.
