Parque D. Carlos I, Caldas da Rainha

The first building to be designed for museum purposes in Portugal, the José Malhoa Museum presents collections of paintings, sculptures and ceramics from the 19th and 20th centuries. The institution also exhibits the largest collection of works by José Malhoa, an artist from Caldas who, through his naturalist works, takes museum visitors on an encounter with popular (and unique) figures from Portugal.
Located in Caldas da Rainha, it reopened to the public on December 20, 2023, after a period of closure for extensive refurbishment work, with the main objective of improving infrastructure and conditions for visitors.

Residents of Portugal have 52 days of free entry per year to museums, monuments and palaces, any day of the week.
“Access 52” tickets are not available for issue at this online ticket office.
Please go to the physical ticket office of one of our Museums or Monuments to request them.
